The Plaza Square

Dorcha relaxed with a shocked expression. Hmm. It wasn't my last after all. He folded his arms and stared into Dooley's eye. Thoughts rushing through his mind. He hesitated, the relented.

" Ahh..Sure... I'll come train with you."

Dooley smile widened as he turned back to grab Dorcha's hand and drag him out to the training grounds, enjoying the feel of the warmth the human let off naturally. That was the problem with having no flowing blood anymore; he was ALWAYS cold. He eventually got used to it...maybe it was time to get a living space heater.

Maria looked around seeing less commotion than normal. She assumed it was because they were out earlier than usual. Spare a few vendors setting up, they were pretty much the only people there. She smiled, "Seems we get an early start today."

Drake nods and looks around. "It would seem you're correct." he says evenly, nodding. "Hm. Must be earlier than I realized. Oh well. Early to bed, early to rise, as they say."

"Not too sure on the wealthy part in that saying... Well, you're wealthy to say the least," she laughed a bit, "I think I take more of the wise from it." A baker opened her shop door and saw the two. She called out to them, "Good morning, you two hungry?"

Drake nods, then begins to head to the bakery. As he does, a black-cloaked figure appears in his way. "Sir Drake. Urgent news." say the man. Drake blinks and nods. "Speak." he says hesitantly "Sir, it's... well..." he whispers something in Drake's ear. Drake nods in understanding, turning to Maria. "Love, something has come up. Go ahead and have breakfast. I should be back soon enough." he says, then he and his companion vanish...

She nodded and stepped into the bakery with the woman. "Thank you," Maria smiled and sat at a small table with one chair. "It's a shame he has all that business to attend to," the baker said. Maria laughed and shook her head, "I know he's needed, so it doesn't bother me at all. It happened all the time when we were courting." The woman smiled and nodded in understanding before leaving to the kitchen and returning with a plate of fresh bread. She had also received a few other things to give her, including a glass of red wine and some cheese. As the meal was set down before her, she smirked, "Looks wonderful. Thank you." The baker chuckled and went into the back to make more bread.

((You know as well as I do, I'll be a bit distracted after this, so I may not get around to that training. X3 ))

Dooley left for the plaza when he woke up at noon. He wore his heavy cloak again with heavy grey pants under a black shirt. He was waiting for Dorcha, he could wait forever. But he was getting stared at and he hissed at a child who yanked on his braid.

Drake reenters te bakery, not long after he left, smiling wanly. "Well that was easier than I thought. It was another basilisk out in the fields... they keeps appearing there more lately. Probably a lack of food in their indigenous area." he says, sitting beside Maria.

Maria had only gotten time to say a blessing over her food and snack on the loaf a little when Drake came in. She was happy to see him back so soon and unharmed. "I suppose that's the trouble with them, they're always looking for another meal... speaking of which, I'll go back and ask Helga to bring you out a plate," she said standing up and stepping to the back. "Ma'am? Drake is back, so could I have another plate for him?" she called still with timidness in her voice. The baker from before came out smiling brightly as she walked to the table setting an duplicate of Maria's meal in front of Drake and saying, "Eat up kids!" and walking once more to the back room. Maria sat back down and grinned.

Drake smiles, thanking Helga as he begins to eat. "The recent monster population worries me lately. Something seems to be making most monsters mutate.... what it is, that's anyone's guess."

"If you have to scout... I could help if you want. My only help would be against dark monsters... and stupid ones. Other than that, I suppose I'd just be there for minor healing if you needed me," she sighed feeling helpless to him. She ate little bits of her food, thinking about what she could do.

Drake shrugs. "Wherever I go I'd be putting you in danger if you came along... tell you what. You keep up your training. Eventually you'll be strong enough to tag along with me to the more dangerous areas."

Maria finished her food and nodded to Drake. "Yes dear. I'll go off and do my training for the day and see you when you're done with business," she replied like a scolded child. She stood and went to leave, calling out, "Good bye dear. Have a blessed day."

Drake comes up behind her swiftly, his arms curling around her stomach. He kisses her neck gently, then her lips when she turns to see him. "Well... I'll see you later then." he whispers before letting her go and heading in the direction that let to Mt. Ragna.

She walked with him and smiled, seeing the town more full of life. She felt calmer now and looked to the vendors wondering what to cook.

Drake walks with Maria, hands in his jacket pockets as they pursue the selection of a few vendors. He couldn't help but wonder what Maria was planning to cook, but it was sure to be delicious, as always.

Maria had enough coins to pay for a nice meal for the two of them. She stopped for produce and picked up a few things for a nice thick tomato sauce. And then going to other stands, she got a shank of beef, a half pound of dried noodles, and a medium baugette. "It's goulash tonight honey," she smiled paying for everything and carrying it through the plaza.

"If it tastes as good as it sounds, then I think I'll be plenty happy tonight." he says with a smirk. "and not just because of dinner."

"Oh because when I'm cooking, I don't talk?" she laughed. Maria's hands were full and she followed with him to the house. A few kids ran around in front of them in a circle and a little girl ran behind carrying her doll. Maria smiled seeing them, feeling a tiny hint of sadness seeing as they had no children.

Drake follows her gaze to the multitude of children, and he glances at her, realizing what she meant by the smile alone. He leans in, whispering. "Why not try tonight...?"

Maria blushed and stopped in her tracks. She smiled, "If you would like."

He smiles. "Of course it'd what I'd like..." he whispers, smiling pleasantly.

"Then let's go home," she said smiling to show her teeth. She was a little more than excited.

He smiles inwardly, enjoying her enthusiasm at the thought. He quickens their pace slightly... the sooner they got home, the better.
